DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Create-in-Action! We will be using Apple’s Everyone Can Create curricula to teach students (grades 3+) hands-on projects using iPads. Each student will use their own iPad to create special projects – combining technology with creativity. Some projects include digital animation, stop motion, as well as pop art. Students will learn little “secrets” on their iPads as well.

This course is a mixture of technology and art. Through hands-on learning, students will develop skills through critical thinking and gain exposure to utilizing native apps on their iPad, all while sparking their imagination and innovation.

DESCRIPTION

The Code architects course is designed to address real-world scenarios. Students are trained to write and troubleshoot code through systematic problem-solving tasks. Lessons include direct teaching on dissecting complex issues, evaluating different solutions, and applying strategic thought processes. obstacles, equipping them to address problems from various perspectives and create inventive solutions.


To take the Code Architects course, students must have had formal experience with coding or have taken the Code Pioneers courses. The course roster will be reviewed before the beginning of the class to ensure students are properly placed.

  • Cyber bullying: What is cyber bullying? How to identify it and respond. Avoid being a cyber bullying.
  • Develop an understanding of respecting ownership and copyright in the digital world.

Robotics

Our Kids Robotics courses offers an exciting and interactive introduction to the world of robotics for young learners. Through hands-on projects, students will design, build, and program robots using age-appropriate kits and tools. One example is the KIBO robotics system. KIBO provides a screen-free, hands-on learning experience that introduces children to the fundamentals of coding and robotics through play.

DESCRIPTION

Dive into the world of electronics and coding with our Advanced Circuits Adventures class! This hands-on course is designed for young inventors ages 12 and up who are eager to explore the limitless possibilities of technology. With Arduino, Raspberry Pi and other popular open-source electronics platform, students will learn how to create, control, and customize their own electronic projects. 

Students will develop critical thinking and troubleshooting skills as they bring their ideas to life. In this course, students will experiment with different components to see how they work together and showcase their creativity and innovation by developing personalized projects.

Our Literacy Intervention program utilizes the Wilson Reading System to provide targeted support for students with reading difficulties. Designed to address the needs of struggling readers, this evidence-based curriculum focuses on developing essential reading skills through a structured and systematic approach.

The Wilson Reading System emphasizes phonemic awareness, decoding, and encoding, enabling students to build a strong foundation in reading. With personalized instruction and hands-on activities, our program aims to enhance reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence, ensuring each student receives the support they need to succeed in their literacy journey.
